Rep. Jim Himes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Rep. Jim Himes, a Democrat from Connecticut and a member of the House Intelligence Committee, has submitted legislation that would require the Director of National Intelligence to submit an annual report about any violations of law or executive orders by personnel of the Intelligence Community.<\/p>\n

The legislation, introduced on December 16, is co-sponsored by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), also a member of the intelligence committee.<\/p>\n

The House bill, H.R. 3779, which was referred to the House Intelligence Committee, requires that the annual report describe in detail any action taken in response to any alleged violation of law or executive order, as determined by the director, head, general counsel or inspector general of any element of the Intelligence Community. The first such report shall be submitted within one year of the enactment of this law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
