In his new role, Hannon will be responsible for\u00a0providing strategic direction for technology and solution delivery into the U.S. public sector market, which also includes the management of\u00a0<u><a href=\"http:\/\/gov.as.techdata.com\/en-us\/Pages\/default.aspx\">Tech Data Government Solutions, LLC<\/a><\/u>\u00a0and oversight of this subsidiary&#8217;s\u00a0U.S. General Services Administration\u00a0(GSA) IT 70 contract,\u00a0GS-35F-0349S. Hannon will be based in\u00a0Chantilly, VA\u00a0and report to\u00a0Marty Bauerlein, senior vice president, Sales,\u00a0North America, at\u00a0Tech Data.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Tim is a welcome and critical addition to the\u00a0Tech Data\u00a0leadership team,&#8221; said Bauerlein. &#8220;He brings a unique combination of skills and experience to our public sector business, with a strong background in enterprise and channel sales management roles. We strive to provide our partners with a single source for all the resources they need to succeed in pursuing both public sector and U.S. government IT business\u2014the largest and most lucrative IT market in the world, and Tim is ideally positioned to lead this business area forward.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>With more than 35 years in IT sales, Hannon has extensive experience in helping organizations scale their customer relationships as well as leading and building\u00a0teams that deliver results and exceed goals. Before joining\u00a0Tech Data, he served as president of CIS Secure Computing in\u00a0Ashburn, Virginia, and prior to that he was with\u00a0Cisco\u00a0for 15 years, serving as director, U.S. Public Sector Partner Sales for the last two. His career also includes time at Ernst &amp; Young,\u00a0Hewlett-Packard\u00a0and\u00a0Ellucian\u00a0(formerly Datatel).
