On September 30, Vantor announced that it has rebranded from Maxar Intelligence and unveiled Tensorglobe, an AI-powered spatial intelligence platform. The rebrand represents the culmination of the company’s multi-year journey to productize its core operational technology and transform from a satellite imagery provider into an end-to-end spatial intelligence company.

The name Vantor speaks to how the company unlocks a real-time competitive advantage by delivering total clarity for missions across the space, air, and ground domains, ending the era of disconnected sensor platforms. Vantor is solving the most critical challenges across the defense and commercial sectors, including the urgent need for more advanced battlespace systems and the push to unleash autonomy across every industry.

The company addresses these challenges with multi-domain spatial intelligence solutions that integrate sensor data across satellites, drones, and ground-based assets to improve decision-making and drive autonomous operations at scale.

Vantor has recently partnered with leading innovators across the defense and commercial sectors to jointly build integrated intelligence solutions. Vantor is delivering the foundational spatial intelligence for Anduril’s next-gen mixed reality combat system designed for the U.S. Army’s Soldier Borne Mission Command Architecture (SBMC-A) program and signed partnerships with Saab and Taiwan’s AIDC to integrate Raptor into mission-ready systems designed for contested environments.

This data is often siloed, forcing customers to manually stitch it together before making sense of it all, delaying decision making and driving up costs. To solve this challenge, Vantor has unveiled Tensorglobe, an end-to-end spatial intelligence platform.

On September 17, Maxar Intelligence announced that it has partnered with Ecopia AI to launch Vivid Features, the most accurate 2D and 3D vector maps offered at global scale. This product delivers interoperable vector features of building footprints, road centerlines, and land cover anywhere on Earth—transforming the speed and ease of building up-to-date maps.

Vivid Features integrates Maxar’s industry-leading satellite imagery and automated spatial fusion software with Ecopia’s AI-based mapping system to deliver vector features that are consistently aligned across sensors and time. The product is already delivering up-to-date features to U.S. government, international government and commercial mapping customers, and has produced more than one billion building footprints around the world.

“Vivid Features, powered by Ecopia, solves one of the most persistent challenges in digital mapping—the time-consuming process of producing consistent vector map data of every place on Earth,” said Peter Wilczynski, Maxar’s chief product officer. “Together, we’ve created a product that eliminates the thousands of hours customers typically spend manually creating and aligning vectors, providing a dynamic basemap suite that maintains fidelity as the world changes.”

Maxar uses its automated geospatial fusion software to georegister the most recent 30 cm-class imagery to the company’s global 3D foundation, which has an industry-leading accuracy of 3 m. Ecopia’s AI-powered system processes this georegistered imagery to produce vector maps that inherit the same accuracy. Because of this accuracy, these vector features natively align to their real-world location in a digital map even as the map’s base imagery is updated, eliminating “drifting” vector challenges that lead to unnecessary manual work and inefficiency in the mapmaking process.

“Gaining an up-to-date, three-dimensional understanding of our planet and how it is changing is one of the most complex challenges our customers face,” said Jon Lipinski, president and co-founder of Ecopia AI. “While millions of square kilometers of satellite images are captured each day, many organizations struggle to develop corresponding 3D vector maps and keep them current to reflect real-world change. This partnership with Maxar will enable unprecedented access to up-to-date 3D vector maps across the globe.”

Maxar’s spatial foundation is fueled by its advanced imaging satellite constellation, which can collect nearly seven million sq km of the most accurate and highest resolution satellite imagery every day. It can also revisit the same location on Earth up to 15 times per day, delivering frequent opportunities to collect fresh data of the areas that matter most.

On September 8, Maxar Intelligence announced a strategic partnership with Anduril to supply the foundational geospatial intelligence that will underpin a next-generation mixed-reality command-and-control (C2) system that Anduril Industries is developing for the U.S. Army.

The C2 system will power the Soldier-Borne Mission Command Architecture (SBMC-A) program, which will provide U.S. warfighters with a futuristic mixed-reality capability that overlays real-time battlefield intelligence directly into a soldier’s field of view. Advanced headsets will display digital information on top of their real-world view during live combat missions and training. This system requires detailed, accurate and up-to-date 3D maps to serve as the spatial foundation for intelligence flowing into the system.

SBMC-A isn’t a set of goggles—it’s a software, network, and integration layer that turns every soldier into a node in the C2 network. Legacy mission command systems built around maps and radios can’t keep up with the speed and complexity of modern battlefields. By integrating Maxar’s geospatial intelligence into Anduril’s Lattice AI-powered software, SBMC-A gives soldiers accurate, real-time awareness of terrain and threats—turning data into actionable insight that strengthens survivability and accelerates decision making in contested environments.

“This partnership positions Maxar at the heart of the Army’s most advanced combat systems,” said Susanne Hake, general manager, U.S. government, Maxar Intelligence. “As military operations become increasingly integrated and automated, Maxar’s software-enabled geospatial intelligence capabilities become vital to maintaining America’s military advantage, protecting our warfighters and delivering results on the battlefield.”

“We’re excited to partner with Maxar to bring their best-in-class geospatial intelligence to the tactical edge,” said Tom Keane, SVP of engineering at Anduril. “This collaboration demonstrates the openness of the Lattice platform and the power of the Lattice Data Mesh to fuse Maxar’s precision terrain data with other mission-critical sources in real time. Our strategy for SBMC is to bring together the best technology from across industry—and Maxar is a key part of that mission to increase warfighter effectiveness and lethality.”

Maxar will deliver this foundation through a software-enabled solution that Anduril integrates into its Lattice software, leveraging Maxar’s 3D operational terrain—a high-fidelity digital representation of the physical world. Maxar’s automated 3D production software will ensure terrain data is refreshed within hours of collecting new satellite images, keeping the 3D foundation aligned with ground truth in live combat operations and training missions.

Through this contract, Maxar and Anduril will deliver a working prototype of the 3D foundation to the U.S. Army, with a focus on 14 initial locations of interest. The partners will also advance the solution toward full operational capability. The partnership builds on Maxar’s existing support of the Army’s One World Terrain program, for which the company has been providing 3D mapping data since 2019.

On June 25, Maxar Intelligence announced the launch of Sentry, a first-of-its-kind persistent monitoring solution that delivers strategic operational and threat intelligence at global scale for a real-time decision advantage.

Sentry integrates AI-powered capabilities unique to Maxar—including multi-source constellation orchestration, geospatial fusion, and advanced machine learning models for automated analytics—to deliver a new level of closed-loop spatial intelligence. It is specifically designed to monitor hundreds of areas around the world to solve complex problems such as anticipating adversarial threats or protecting industrial infrastructure.

The Sentry suite includes two products designed for specific mission sets: Site Sentry, a product for monitoring places of interest across land and sea, such as shipyards, airports, urban centers and more, and Maritime Sentry, a broad area monitoring product for tracking vessel activity at sea and in port, enabling customers to actively monitor thousands of sq km of ocean at once.

Both Sentry products draw on Maxar’s 250+ petabyte archive of very high-resolution satellite imagery collected over more than two decades. This unrivaled geospatial foundation provides training data for advanced AI/ML computer vision models that contain a detailed understanding of historical activity and global patterns across the world.

On June 27, Maxar Intelligence, provider of secure, precise geospatial insights, announced that it was awarded Delivery Order 01 under the Luno A program by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

This award is focused on delivering commercial analytic services, specifically automated AI/ML-generated object detections over many specified locations at once. Maxar is primarily identifying various classes of aircraft, ships, ground vehicles and railcars, helping NGA determine object counts at specified locations, classification of objects, identify trends and anomalies, and perform spatial and temporal geospatial intelligence analysis. The mission represents a strong example of operationalizing commercial technologies for persistent site monitoring at global scale.

Maxar has partnered on this award with satellite Earth observation data provider, Satellogic, Inc., integrating the capacity and revisit of both constellations to deliver a combination of persistent monitoring and high-resolution imaging for the most demanding multi-sensor applications; Enabled Intelligence to aid with model validation and verification; and Striveworks for the AIOps platform.

Delivery Order 01 requires excellent performance against extremely tight delivery timelines, including the ability to collect multiple images across constellations within specified windows and delivering model outputs within hours of image acquisition. Automation is the key to success for all phases that include collection, computer vision model inference, and delivery of timely results.

On June 18, Maxar Intelligence, provider of secure, precise geospatial insights, and Array Labs announced an agreement to provide Maxar with dedicated capacity from Array Labs’ 3D radar imaging constellation, which is set to launch in late 2026.

This partnership will combine very high-resolution 3D terrain generated from electro-optical imagery with 3D terrain generated from radar imagery to expand Maxar’s ability to rapidly update its global 3D global data in real-time. Under the agreement, the two companies will extend the current technical validation activities and work closely to integrate Array Labs data into the Maxar 3D product line.

Rapidly updated 3D global terrain data provides defense, intelligence and commercial customers with unparalleled insights into their true operating environment and enable opportunities to further enhance the capabilities of next-gen tactical mission-focused products like Raptor, which provides GPS resilience for autonomous drone systems.

“Our partnership with Array Labs will help us achieve our vision of building a living globe—a highly accurate, real-time 3D representation of Earth—that can help solve critical challenges across warfighting, intelligence and commercial domains,” said Peter Wilczynski, chief product officer at Maxar Intelligence. “This additional capacity from Array Labs will help maintain a simulated 3D terrain that matches the real-world operating environment to give our customers a decisive advantage—from the digital battlefield to the connected city.”

Maxar’s 3D global terrain data already consists of 100 million-plus sq km around the world, delivered with 3-meter SE90 accuracy. This data is regularly updated to provide a reliable view of the operational terrain.

Once Array Labs’ constellation is operational, it will become the latest addition to Maxar’s virtual constellation, which brings together complementary remote sensing capabilities to enable comprehensive, real-time geospatial insights and intelligence.

On June 4, Maxar Intelligence, the leading provider of secure, precise geospatial insights, announced a strategic partnership with Saab to jointly develop next-generation multi-domain battlespace solutions, with a specific focus on advanced space-based C5ISR systems (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) for the digital battlefield and GPS resilience for autonomous drone systems. These solutions will help Europe accelerate the development of more advanced sovereign space-based capabilities.

Through a Teaming Agreement, Saab can access Maxar’s geospatial intelligence and advanced mission products like Raptor, as well as draw upon the company’s technical expertise. The deal expands on Maxar’s existing relationship with Saab, which has most recently focused on deploying Maxar’s Raptor product for autonomous drone navigation and operation in GPS-denied environments.

“This partnership will bring together Maxar’s industry-leading geospatial intelligence products with Saab’s highly advanced defense systems to solve some of the most complex tactical and operational challenges across the battlespace today—from powering more intelligent, real-time multi-domain command and control systems to helping autonomous systems overcome GPS jamming,” said Dan Smoot, Maxar Intelligence CEO. “The deal also reflects the growing realization that geospatial intelligence can go beyond powering analyst workflows to powering mission-focused software products deployed at the tactical edge.”

“And, most importantly, our partnership with Saab underscores Maxar’s deep commitment to supporting our international customers as they continue to build up their sovereign defense capabilities, both in Europe and across the globe,” Smoot continued.

The agreement builds on successful joint testing of Maxar’s Raptor software product. The technology was tested with Saab in multiple countries, including a demo in real-world conditions where the product demonstrated the ability to accurately extract ground coordinates within an accuracy of less than 2 m.

“Our collaboration with Maxar represents a significant leap forward in our commitment to use information from the Space domain and thereby enhancing the strategic defense capabilities of Europe and beyond,” says Görgen Johansson, head of Saab business area Dynamics. “By integrating Maxar’s high-end geospatial insights and satellite capabilities with our advanced defense systems, we are setting new standards in the effectiveness and reliability of military operations across multiple domains.”

Maxar’s geospatial intelligence products will also help Saab build more advanced C5ISR solutions through secure access to the most advanced commercial satellite imagery in near real-time. Maxar’s global 3D terrain data unlocks unique opportunities for real-time multi-source data fusion, enabling truly joint multi-domain operations, seamless interoperability between autonomous systems and enhanced mission coordination.

On February 4, Maxar Intelligence, a provider of secure, precise geospatial insights, confirmed that its fifth and sixth WorldView Legion satellites are performing well after being launched into mid-inclination orbit from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.

With this successful launch, Maxar now has seven satellites on orbit capable of collecting 30 cm-class imagery—representing a significant increase in very-high resolution imagery capacity and marking a new era for the geospatial industry. Once all six WorldView Legion satellites are fully operational, the Maxar constellation will be able to collect more than 6 million sq km of Earth imagery per day, including up to 3.6 million sq km of 30 cm-class imagery.

“This incredible achievement puts Maxar in a category of its own within the geospatial industry, and it’s been made possible thanks to the hard work, dedication and talent of the many people who have supported this program over the years,” said Dan Smoot, Maxar Intelligence CEO. “This is the just the beginning. This additional capacity enables us to collect more timely data over more locations, and it will further fuel the industry’s most advanced 2D and 3D geospatial content products.”

Built by Maxar Space Systems, these six WorldView Legion satellites are the first Maxar 500 series platforms to reach space, following the successful launches of the four last year.

On December 19, Maxar Intelligence, a provider of secure, precise geospatial insights, announced that it has been awarded a total of $35 million in new tasking contracts from two government customers in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Both contracts are built around a Direct Access Program (DAP) offering and include several “firsts,” including the first purchase of direct access to 30 cm class WorldView Legion imagery and the first use of Maxar’s virtual constellation capability in the APAC region to directly task ultra high-resolution synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery from Maxar partner Umbra.

Maxar’s DAP offering enables defense, intelligence and commercial customers to integrate ground stations with Maxar’s satellites, giving them dedicated capacity with guaranteed delivery speeds. Customers can task Maxar satellites up to 15 minutes prior to an imaging event and receive data in real time.

On December 11, Maxar Intelligence and Satellogic, Inc. announced a tasking, data licensing and distribution agreement that enhances Maxar’s ability to deliver monitoring and change detection insights in near real-time for the U.S. government and the government’s partners around the world.

Specifically, the agreement grants Maxar exclusive rights to task Satellogic’s high-revisit constellation and use its cost-effective satellite imagery to support national security missions for the U.S. government and select U.S. partners internationally.

Pairing Satellogic’s high frequency revisit rates with Maxar’s very-high resolution satellite imaging capabilities and AI-powered technologies creates a differentiated offering in the market. Maxar can task Satellogic imagery and apply machine learning models to simultaneously monitor activity and detect change over multiple geographies. When it is time to better understand that activity or change, Maxar can collect a 30 cm-class image to get a more detailed and precise view. This agreement unlocks new opportunities to deliver Earth observation data by achieving a balance between cost, resolution, and revisit frequency.

This partnership will further enhance Maxar’s virtual constellation capability, which brings together complementary sensors to create a seamless collection, delivery and analysis workflow for users.
