]]>
On May 11, Peraton announced the commercial availability of the Peraton Interactive Realtime Information System (IRIS), a comprehensive, AI-enabled decision-support platform purpose-built for analysts, mission planners, and commanders operating in today’s complex information environment. Peraton IRIS is at Technology Readiness Level 9 (TRL 9), approved for CUI use at IL5 now, with an Approval to Operate at IL6 by July 2026. Peraton IRIS has been in operational use at U.S. Combatant Commands since April 2025 and has been available via the Tradewinds marketplace since September 2025.

From real-time media monitoring to influence campaign planning, Peraton IRIS supports the full analytical lifecycle — transforming multi-source data into clear, actionable intelligence at the speed operations demand.

“Peraton has long understood that the information environment is not a secondary theater: it is a primary one. Peraton IRIS represents the convergence of artificial intelligence and real-time data integration,” said Tom Afferton, president of Peraton’s Cyber and Intelligence Sector. “Combined with deep operational expertise, Peraton IRIS is a single platform that empowers our analysts, planners, graphics illustrators, researchers, and most importantly, operators, to stay ahead of adversary narratives, counter their messaging at scale, and support mission success across every domain. In an era of cognitive warfare, speed and clarity of understanding are decisive advantages, and Peraton IRIS delivers both.”

As adversaries increasingly weaponize information to erode public trust, manipulate perceptions, and undermine democratic institutions, Peraton IRIS equips operators and mission planners with the tools needed to detect, understand, and counter these threats at machine speed. The platform brings together continuously updated data sources into a single, intuitive interface that supports real-time decision-making across the full spectrum of information operations, according to the company.

Peraton IRIS orchestrates five of the nation’s most powerful AI models — and layers on top of them the mission data, domain context, and analytical workflows that turn raw AI capability into actionable national security intelligence. Peraton IRIS is vendor-agnostic, data agnostic, and contract-agnostic. The LLMs are powerful engines. Peraton IRIS is the vehicle — with the mission map, the fuel, and the driver already built in.

Peraton IRIS is designed around the realities of today’s information environment, where cognitive warfare —the deliberate targeting of human perception, belief systems, and decision-making—has emerged as one of the most consequential domains of modern conflict. Nation-state adversaries and non-state actors alike are deploying sophisticated influence campaigns, disinformation networks, and narrative manipulation strategies to achieve strategic objectives without firing a single shot.

Peraton IRIS addresses this challenge by providing advanced semantic search, natural language querying, sentiment trend analysis, and AI-assisted narrative tracking — enabling teams to identify influence operations in near real-time, map adversary messaging strategies, and develop data-driven counter-narratives. The platform’s cognitive warfare module supports Psychological Operations (PSYOP) and Information Operations (IO) planning and target audience analysis, giving commanders and planners an unprecedented edge in the battle for the information domain, the company said.

“What Peraton IRIS does is fundamentally change the relationship between the user and the data. Instead of spending hours aggregating information from disparate sources, operators can now ask complex, multi-layered questions in natural language and receive synthesized, citation-backed answers in seconds,” said Cliff Bean, senior director of cognitive warfare. “That shift — from data management to genuine insight generation — is what makes Peraton IRIS a force multiplier for every mission it supports.”

On April 28, Peraton announced that it has achieved Final Level 2 certification under the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program following a successful assessment by a CMMC Certified Third-Party Assessment Organization. This milestone underscores the company’s commitment to cybersecurity excellence for its customers, Peraton said.

The CMMC framework, developed by the Department of War (DoW), establishes rigorous cybersecurity standards for sensitive information across the nation’s defense industrial base. By earning this certification, Peraton demonstrates its ability to protect controlled unclassified information (CUI) and federal contract information with (enhanced or required) security measures.

“Peraton has long demonstrated the advanced technologies, workforce expertise, and proven safeguards to protect our nation’s most sensitive data and information,” said Peraton Chairman and CEO Steve Schorer. “This CMMC achievement reinforces our commitment to the Department of War and solidifies Peraton as a trusted partner in support of national security operations, critical missions, and defense priorities.”

“Achieving Final CMMC Level 2 status reflects the strength of Peraton’s cybersecurity program and the dedication of our team,” said Peraton Chief Information Officer Tom Terjesen. “This milestone validates Peraton’s rigorous security architecture, operational discipline, and commitment to protecting the critical data our customers rely on every day.”

On December 4, Peraton announced a strategic partnership with Zscaler, a leader in cloud-native, AI-powered cybersecurity to deliver next-generation, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions for mission-critical environments.

This collaboration redefines how enterprises and government organizations safeguard their operations, data, and networks at scale, the company said. By combining Peraton’s hybrid multicloud capabilities with Zscaler’s cutting-edge security framework, the expanded partnership provides an integrated approach to network transformation, Zero Trust adoption, and digital modernization.

“At Peraton, our mission is to protect and enable the nation’s most critical operations. Partnering with Zscaler allows us to bring together our hybrid multicloud expertise with their proven Zero Trust architecture to protect vital systems while empowering faster innovation and operational efficiency,” said Todd Borkey, chief technology officer, Peraton. “Our collaboration with Zscaler is about securing every layer of the enterprise – from the tactical edge to the cloud – so our customers can operate with confidence and resilience in any environment.”

Peraton’s hybrid multicloud solution empowers customers with a flexible, composable framework that supports modern architectural estates composed of private cloud/on-premises, public cloud, hybrid cloud, multicloud, and edge platforms. Its comprehensive suite of capabilities, including modular enterprise security, adaptable governance, intelligent automation, and innovative FinOps, enables organizations to accelerate their cloud journeys while maintaining control and compliance.

Zscaler’s Zero Trust Exchange platform complements Peraton’s solution by reimagining traditional network and security models. Acting as a secure, cloud-based switchboard, the security framework connects users and devices to applications, rather than to a network, based on identity and context. This approach eliminates legacy network dependencies, improves user experience, and lowers total cost of ownership with a cloud-native solution, all while delivering superior security and operational agility.

“Zscaler is proud to partner with Peraton to help secure the nation’s most critical missions. By combining Zscaler’s cloud-delivered security with Peraton’s hybrid multicloud and enterprise IT capabilities, we’re giving government and enterprise customers the ability to securely connect users, devices, and workloads—anywhere, on any network—while reducing cost and complexity,” said Drew Schnabel, GVP and GM, Zscaler U.S. Government Solutions.
