The name reflects the breadth and depth of the new capabilities and expertise that the combined company will bring to public sector customers, helping them to address critical national security and information-related challenges and opportunities.

The March 8 announcement revealed the company name and logo. The full launch of the new brand will take place with the debut of the new company, which is expected in May 2018.

The strategic combination of the three complementary businesses, which was announced in October 2017, will create a mission-enabled, end-to-end IT services and mission solutions provider to government customers at the U.S. federal, state and local level.

Until the completion of the merger, DXC USPS, Vencore and KeyPoint will continue to operate under their current leadership structures as three separate organizations. All regulatory clearances that are a necessary condition to closing the merger have been secured, and the SEC registration process is ongoing.

The goal of the SHARE program is to develop technology that will enable information exchange between coalitions at multiple security classification levels on a handheld device. Vencore Labs will be helping design and develop VeriNet, Verifiably Secure NDN (Named Data Networking)-based Coalition Networks. The Vencore Labs team will use its research and implementation expertise to deliver VeriNet and enable secure information sharing groups between the US and its coalition partners.

Under the SHARE program, VeriNet will provide secure information sharing at multiple levels of security with an intuitive user interface at the tactical edge using commercial handheld devices, while minimizing the use of scarce handheld resources. The solution will also deliver secure tactical edge networking technologies based on NDN, an emerging new networking technique that provides packet-level security and high resilience to loss, adapted to the dynamic, highly mobile, and diverse tactical environment. Additionally, the Vencore Labs team will provide rapid deployment capabilities for coalitions with custom information sharing rules, while guaranteeing correctness of coalition configurations.

This new work builds on Vencore Labs’ research experience, technology expertise and implementation capabilities from prior related programs with DARPA and other agencies.

Vencore, Inc. of Chantilly, VA announced on December 21 that its innovative research arm, Vencore Labs, Inc, was awarded agreements for the Comprehensive Spectrum Monitoring System (COSMOS) and Spectrum Usage Measurement System (SUMS) programs supporting the Department of Defense (DoD). The three-year COSMOS agreement has a value of $7.9 million while the SUMS agreement is valued at $6.8 million for the same length of time. These agreements are part of Vencore Labs’ expanding portfolio in spectrum management technologies ranging from spectrum sensing, measuring and monitoring, to fast processing, advanced analytics and useful visualizations to improve spectrum use.

Under the COSMOS agreement, Vencore Labs will design, prototype and field-test a robust spectrum monitoring, recording and visualization solution for use at DoD training ranges for the U.S. Navy. The Vencore Labs team will design and implement two types of programmable radio frequency (RF) sensors. The system will store sensor data for spectrum usage analytics and perform near real-time centralized processing on data from multiple sensors.

The team will also build application programming interfaces (APIs) for exchanging data with federal spectrum repositories and management systems. COSMOS will enable users to visualize actual spectrum utilization, more efficiently manage and schedule authorized spectrum usage, and report on spectrum occupancy and identify spectral anomalies.

Under the SUMS agreement, Vencore Labs will design, prototype and field-demonstrate a system to measure multi-band RF spectrum usage for airborne telemetry systems at DoD test ranges. The system will leverage the 3-D spectrum usage model and GIS-driven situationally specific propagation and channel models from the test range Spectrum Management System (SMS) prototype previously developed by Vencore Labs for the DoD Test Resource Management Center (TRMC).

The SUMS system will support DoD agencies, including Naval Air Systems Command, the Air Force and the Army, that perform airborne and ground system testing and evaluation (T&E) at DoD test ranges to track, measure and improve their usage of the telemetry spectrum. The system will help agencies improve spectrum efficiency using insights gained from analysis and provide documentation for actual test range spectrum usage against test plans.

Chantilly, VA-based Vencore, Inc., announced on September 6 that as a partner of the QWK Integrated Solutions LLC joint venture, it has won a position on the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC) and Army Forces Strategic Command (ARSTRAT), Design, Development, Demonstration and Integration (D3I) program Domain 1 contract. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) multi-award contract is valued at more than $3 billion and has a five-year base period of performance with two consecutive two-year options.

The D3I program will provide the Army with rapid design, development, demonstration, and integration of technology to support the mission of SMDC/ARSTRAT and the warfighter. QWK addresses these needs uniquely by leveraging the extensive capabilities of the partner companies, Vencore and Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc., and its team members.

QWK will compete for task orders to perform work in three core areas: operations; capability development; and materiel development. Specifically, QWK will support SMDC/ARSTRAT as they provide trained and ready space and missile defense forces and capabilities in service to the warfighter and the nation, as well as research, test and integration support of space, missile defense, cyber, directed energy and related technologies.

Vencore, Inc. of Chantilly, VA announced on August 30 that it was awarded a follow-on task order to continue work on the United States Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) Expert Scientific and Analytical Support (ESAS) program. The task order has a $6.4 million value, and work will be performed in Melbourne, Florida.

Under this task order, Vencore will continue the system development of the AFTAC Modular Optimized Operations System (MOOS).  MOOS, currently being developed by Vencore, is a revolutionary replacement for the existing AFTAC Nuclear Detonation (NUDET) Detection System (NDS) Analysis System (ANDSAS).

Since 2011, Vencore has supported the Air Force’s technical capabilities to ensure nuclear detection mission readiness and treaty verification through the advancement of standoff detection, multi sensor platform correlation, situational awareness, analysis, diagnostics, forensics and systems engineering. The company also supports the research and development of future systems and other advanced detection technologies to meet the evolving operational mission requirements for monitoring treaties and other customer directed technology applications.

Vencore Inc. of Chantilly, VA announced on June 15 that its innovative research arm, Vencore Labs, has been awarded a prime contract to provide research and development services in support of the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency’s (DARPA) Dispersed Computing (DCOMP) program. Work on the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract will take place in Basking Ridge, New Jersey through 2021 and has a value of $10.3M.

The DCOMP program aims to remedy the cost and latency issues of data computation in a rugged, operational environment where network connectivity and power is limited.  By leveraging dispersed computing systems, the DCOMP program seeks to create software instantiations of protocol stacks and algorithms to improve performance of networks and applications.

Under the contract, Vencore aims to provide DARPA with innovation in network protocols. Specifically, the company proposes a solution leveraging programmable network elements that collect in-path network data for analytics and uses these analytics with programmable protocol logic for boosting network performance.
